A thread lift places absorbable threads to support mildly loose facial or neck tissue. It addresses a different degree of laxity from a surgical facelift; the procedures are not interchangeable.
Risks and limitations
Risks include infection, a thread becoming exposed, pain, bruising and an unwanted result. Temporary difficulty opening the mouth can occur.
Recovery and follow-up
Swelling and discomfort can occur despite descriptions of minimal downtime. Ask about restrictions on facial movement, follow-up and how long benefit is reasonably expected to last.
