What it involves
Liposuction removes localized fat. Skin elasticity and the location of the fat influence the result; it does not by itself correct all loose skin or muscle bands.
Risks and limitations
Discuss contour irregularities, infection, bleeding, altered sensation and remaining skin laxity. A sharper edited jawline cannot show which underlying structure needs treatment.
Recovery and follow-up
Bruising and swelling may last for weeks. Compression or dressings may be part of the clinician’s plan. Allow healing before assessing contour and follow instructions on activity.
Questions for your consultation
Is the fullness accessible fat, loose skin or a deeper structure? Might loose skin remain after fat removal?
