What it involves

A lip lift changes the relationship between the nose and upper lip, often shortening the skin segment between them. A corner lift targets downturned mouth corners. These operations are different from adding injectable volume.

Risks and limitations

Risks include permanent scars, asymmetry, infection, nerve injury and persistent swelling. Discuss tooth show and the appearance while smiling, not only a resting portrait.

Recovery and follow-up

Swelling and tightness can last beyond the first days; scars mature gradually. Ask about eating, talking, incision care and when the result can be assessed.

Questions for your consultation

How would the change affect my smile and tooth show? Where would the incision sit? Is a scar an acceptable trade-off?
